Proprietor, Lynette La Mere (pictured above with her sons), has twenty six years of experience in the culinary arts, specifically as a catering specialist and Executive Chef, has done thousands of events over the years and a recipient of the Top 50 Woman in Business Award. Recently featured in the Wall Street Journal (link). Pure Joy was also named one of the top 25 Woman Owned Businesses here in the Tri County Area and quoted in the Fall issue of Bride's Magazine on trends for weddings in 2011.

Our award winning team is here full time to help you bring all the elements together. Voted best (full Service) Caterer by the Reader's of the News Press again 2010. We were voted the Number One Wedding Planners by readers of the Independent and Best Caterer in Central California the last 2 years by brides on the Knot "Best Of". 2009 Independent voters chose Pure Joy as Santa Barbara's Number 1 Caterer, and we received the Bride's Choice Award from the Wedding Wire as well.

We own the land we've built our event planning facility on; we're here to stay & business is better than ever! Our commercial kitchen, offices, and huge warehouse allow our planning team and culinary staff to work closely together on the custom creation of each Pure Joy event.

Pure Joy Catering's Green Efforts

At Pure Joy we are strongly committed to protecting the environment. Here are some of our efforts;

We recycle or compost 90% of our trash here and were just awarded a Green Star from the City! Every week begins at Farmer's Market. We use only seasonal hand picked ingredients, and whenever possible, we make it a point to source them through purveyors who offer organic, local, and sustainably farmed foods. Our menus and decor florals are seasonal and local too.  All the lighting is our building was upgraded to to be highly energy efficient. Staff car pooling is encouraged for each event we do.  We filter our own water for the offices to reduce the use of plastic water bottles.  While on location disposables are kept to a minimum and we offer rented and compostable alternatives. We do not use throw-away food pans and recycling is practiced in our offices, kitchen and on location.  Communication is done electronically to keep paper waste to a minimum, computers are all turned off at night and we've added ecofont to a large portion of our material to cut ink use by 20%.  All of our green waste goes to feed three giant Sulcata turtles adopted from the zoo that weigh about 80 pounds each! Decor & florals are reused when ever possible.

Santa Barbara County energy grids are some of the best in the country and now run with 17% renewable resources. Our new location is very energy efficient and was built using many new green and renewable alternative products, a wonderful new green insulating product, bamboo and as much recycled wood as possible. We're also proud to say we recycle 75% of our waste!
