How long have you been a chef & where have you honed your skills? I went to culinary school at SBCC Though I have honed my skills at AH Juice Organics where the owners Deb and Alfred trained me to cook, craft, ferment, juice, and serve a diverse crowd of people.
What is the culture at Pure Joy?
I feel like the culture of Pure Joy is that of a kind that I'm familiar with. The culture of kindness, promptness, pleasing to clients, supporting local farmers, and cleanliness. The type of coordination within a team of staff that satisfies a growing need for compassion for a diverse working environment.
What do you contribute to events (beyond truly exceptional cuisine 😉?
I feel I contribute a leadership role to support the lead chefs and supervisors, as well as the whole catering team.
What’s your favorite part of your work?
My favorite part of the events is when we lock in like a team, get things done, and joke about what we have learned and what could be done better.
If you were a cocktail or food dish, what would you be and why?
I'm like a glass of wine. Well rounded with earthy notes. Not too sweet, somewhat dry, and still fruit-forward.
What do you do for fun?
My passions are family, hiking, gardening, and cooking. Making food that is fresh and clean.
