evening view from a roof top restaurant
A perfect culinary adventure for an exploraholic chef! I will go again and again. I’d first heard praises sung of San Miguel de Allende from the owner of the Clean Plate Club Catering Company in Nashville, Monica Holmes, and again from friends in Mexico City and at Stanford. I was convinced! We flew direct from LAX to Leon, Mexico and rented a beautiful, spacious, open air home that I can’t wait to get back to. The house was just across the street from the Organic Farmers Market and we had a great kitchen to make fresh squeezed juices and breakfast and afternoon margaritas from the organic produce and local specialty tequilas. With one action packed week there we still left so much to come back for. The town smells wonderful - it’s clean, safe, stunning, all walkable and packed with really exceptional restaurants, tons of live music options and the shopping is an extraordinary world class treasure hunt. No one got ill or mugged and we all fell madly in love with so many of the people we met there. The highlights were the incredibly talented chefs and a dreamy hot air balloon ride at dawn that we will never forget, our pilot was a brilliant and beautiful lady.
With love,
